As expected, a special meeting of the Greenfield City Council has now appeared on the calendar for October 1.

The only item on the agenda for this meeting is to take from the table of Mayor Martin’s veto of the Safe City Ordinance, which the Council voted to table at their regular September meeting.

If the Council overrides the veto at this meeting, it will remain on the ballot for the election this November. If they do not override the veto, I believe the ballot question will be moot, as the ordinance will have been eliminated by the Mayor’s veto.

The Special Meeting is currently scheduled for 7:00 PM on October 1, to be held in the cafeteria at Greenfield High School. As of this writing, there is no Public Comment on the agenda.
