The Way & Means Committee of the Greenfield City Council voted this evening to recommend that the Council raise and appropriate $757,000 dollars and add it to the Greenfield Public Schools line of the Mayor’s FY20 budget.

The recommendation would help to fill the gap between the Superintendent’s requested budget as put forward by the School Committee and the Mayor’s budget, but still leave around a $500k shortfall for the schools.

Next stop is next Wednesday’s annual budget meeting of the City Council, where the full Council will need to vote on any changes to the Mayor’s budget.
